Position Description:

SunGard provides an integrated solution suite for asset/liability management, budgeting and planning, regulatory compliance, and profitability. SunGard's banking solutions also manage all aspects of universal banking including back-office transaction processing, front-office multichannel delivery, card management and payments.

••Position Overview:
Reporting to the Division CFO based in Geneva, the Vice President of Finance is a senior executive position overseeing the financial functions of the Banking Group, including product budgeting, forecasting, strategic and operational planning, commercial oversight through sales and deals hub and group accounting activities in coordination with regional accounting centers. ••The Group:
SunGard's Banking Group is a leading provider of technology solutions and services to the private and retail banking markets and companies and banks engaged in large scale asset financing and leasing.

••Core Responsibilities:
• Analyze group and individual product performance vs. plan and initiate change when necessary with the Segment President.
• Manage the financial process for the group, including budgeting, strategic and operational planning, forecasting, strategic projects, monthly/quarterly/annual results for all reporting entities.
• Ensure the financial statements for all reporting entities are maintained in accordance with US GAAP and SunGard's financial policies.
• Ensure continuous review and correction to improve operational and process efficiencies including pragmatic decisions around centralised (such as global, regional, location) vs. local processes and coordinate with the regional accounting centers for the implementation of streamlined processes.
• Working with the regional accounting centers and corporate finance, maintain an effective system of internal control. Perform a regular review of internal controls for high-risk areas and critical controls surrounding the finance function and operational policies and procedures. Coordinate Sarbanes-Oxley testing and quarterly disclosure process. Coordinate with Internal Audit for the periodic financial audits performed for individual segments or products.
• Work closely with the Corporate Development, Group President and Segment management on acquisitions, assisting with financial modelling, due diligence, and post-close integration. Includes timely completion and review with corporate accounting on the acquisition accounting for completed transactions and integration into business/internal processes and systems.
• Manage the group deal hub which oversees contract pricing and analysis, bid support, sales quota assignment and management. The deal hub also liaises with the Corporate Revenue Assurance team on accounting and deal structuring techniques on complex software and services contracts.
• Review and monitor the capitalization of software development projects for FAS86 or similar treatment in accordance with GAAP and SunGard policies.
• Work closely with Legal and Corporate Compliance on issues that arise in the group. Set the appropriate 'tone at the top' from an ethics perspective for peers and members of the finance function.
• Appropriately mentor and develop the finance staff supporting the Group.

Position Requirements:

We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert in the commercial aspects of a software business financial planning and strategy.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:
• Undergraduate in Finance, Accounting or Technology (Engineering, Computer Science, etc). MBA preferred but not required
• 10+ years experience, with a proven track record of driving software strategic planning, product pricing and investment decisions
• Expertise in software revenue recognition
• Good business sense to structure deals
• Working knowledge and experience of M&A
• Excellent ability to work with senior executive team and manage and develop qualified staff
• Strong organisational and people management skills
• Strong planning and financial analysis skills
• Ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely fashion
• Ability to define, implement, and adhere to policies and procedures
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Excellent documentation and effective communication skills required
• Ability to work under strict deadlines
• Fluent in English, French will be an asset.
